OUR TEA FACTORY

In 2021 after more than 2 years of construction we completed a 700 sqm 2-story factory located directly on the mountain. Consistent with our values of nature + craftsmanship, we designed the off-grid factory using only local materials for the timber-frame and rammed earth, built by local carpenters and stone masons, powered entirely by solar and hydro power.

The earthen walls naturally moderate the temperature and humidity providing the ideal conditions for making tea. The 2-story height allows the gentle breeze between the valleys to blow across the tea racks to air dry the tea, while offering the fragrance of the flowering trees outside.

Winds blowing between the valleys help tea to dry, the earthen walls, with wooden buttresses, provide the ideal conditions for constant temperature dehumidification. Our way of processing tea combines traditional techniques, scientific management and modern packaging. The result is a unique and healthy PINYE tea.
